The 9th World Islamic Economic Forum: The ‘Davos of the Muslim world’ was for the first time taken out of its usual environment and – in an indication of the growing global importance of Islamic finance – was held in London, a country with a minority Muslim population. It was hosted by Prime Minister David Cameron and HRH Prince Charles. This article looks at the rise of Islamic finance and how countries are working more closely together on this new industry, and why it’s important.
In recognition of the significance of Muslim economic contribution highlighted by the Muslim Pound report and the three day World Islamic Economic Forum, the Evening standard, one of London’s key evening papers, ran a feature on London’s Muslims. It also made note of Ogilvy Noor, mentioning our VP as one of London’s ‘City Slickers’.
